The Organ in 1982-84

Restoration work begins on the badly-damaged Palace; photographs from 1982.

This temporary pavillion was used to house events whilst restoration work on The Palace proceeded.

These photos from 1984 show the frame for the southern window and a view of the northern end of the hall, behind which the organ stood at the time of the fire.

The late Bert Neale, longtime supporter of the Appeal, and Henry Willis, inspect Alexandra Palace pipework, some recently restored. The labels in the bins behind read "Ally Pally".

The first stages of restoration commence with one of the badly decayed soundboards.
